Alicante, Spain is a beautiful place, and if you are planning on flying here, then you will want to land in Alicante Airport. It is only about seven miles south of the city, and there are many ways that you can back and forth between the city and the airport. In the arrivals area, beside the baggage claim, Alicante airport car rental is available including Avis, Centauro, Europcar, Hertz, and more. This is a good way to get around if you want to be able to drive around the city at your own leisure. The airport also has buses that run every hour between Alicante central bus station and the airport. There are even taxis that are available that can get you to Alicante in about fifteen to twenty minutes.
Alicante Airport also has many facilities. They have ATMs, a post office, pay phones all around, and even internet access. There are a variety of bars, cafés, and restaurants, as well as fast-food. There is even an ice cream shop. If you want to go shopping, they have news stands, tobacco shops, traveler’s shops with gifts and jewelry, a music store, a sports store, and an entertainment shop. There are even three duty-free shops. Now that is a lot to choose from, but the icing on top is the cake shop! Something else that they have that you will not see in too many other airports is a pharmacy. This pharmacy also offers travelers a twenty-four hour first aid service.
