LaGuardia Airport

Located upon the Flushing Bay waterfront area of Long Island, LaGuardia Airport was once considered the best airport in the world. Despite being the smallest of metropolitan New York’s three international airports, LaGuardia remains one of the country’s busiest air travel hubs, catering primarily to domestic destinations and those within Canada and parts of the Caribbean.

LaGuardia’s four terminals are easily navigated, with well marked concourses connected by walkways and shuttle buses. The Central Terminal Building serves most of the airport’s domestic flights with a few Canadian destinations. The Delta Terminal accommodates the newest Boeing aircraft while the Marine Air Terminal is a piece of history of itself; the original international flights terminal within the airport. The US Airways Terminal is LaGuardia’s newest terminal and currently handles about half of the airport’s traffic.

LaGuardia Airport offers both arriving and departing passengers a number of services in addition to providing a large selection of places to eat and shop. Along with the standard facilities of ATMs and currency exchange counters, the Central Terminal Building has a medical clinic, a dental office and a post office. Internet wi-fi access points are located throughout the airport, with restaurants along the various concourses serving everything from donuts to pub food and shopping options from duty free to well-known boutique kiosks.

Getting from LaGuardia to downtown Long Island is a simple affair. Several intercity buses link the airport to the subway and rail systems. Metered taxi and limo services are both available at set rates, while popular car rental agencies maintain services desks at the arrivals wing of every terminal.
