Savannah, in the state of Georgia, is not as popular a tourist destination as other US cities, but all the same, is still a lovely place to visit. For museums, Savannah has the majestic Telfair Mansion and Art Museum, housing wonderful artwork from both America and Europe, and is the oldest art museum in the south of the US. To have a more ‘hands-on’ historical experience, use your car rental to drive along to the Savannah River and take a boat trip on the Savannah River Queen. Or drive just 10 miles south, near the Isle of Hope, to take a tour of Wormsloe Plantation, which was once in use.

Car hire in Savannah is useful for driving the short distance to Georgia’s capital of Atlanta. Atlanta is great for nightlife, and has many a memorial and destination dedicated to Martin Luther King. Atlanta is also a great city for shopping, no matter what you wish to buy.

A fantastic, fun filled day out is to be had at Stone Mountain Park, with such activities as camping, a railroad trip, golf, play areas, boating, laser shows, a circus, farm yard animal training, a museum and ‘Ride the Ducks’ – a land and water tour in a WWII DUKW vehicle.
