It now seems that Zeta cartel henchmen are allegedly the people behind the murdering of 72 emigrants. Apparently these emigrants were trying their best to find work inside the United States. The emigrants fell just 100 miles short of their goal and became the latest victims of the Mexican drug cartels.
According to reports, there were 58 men and 14 woman murdered by the Zetas. Somehow one emigrant was able to escape and live to warn Mexican authorities about the vicious attack. This incident appears to be the worst killing in the notorious cartel. It creates another perilous obstacle for emigrants to consider before they try and make it to America.
Reports went on to say that the Ecuadorean emigrant was able to make it back last Tuesday with a bullet wound in his neck. He told the marines he had just escaped from gunmen at a ranch in San Fernando. This is a town that is just 100 miles from Brownsville Texas.
The emigrant went on to tell Mexican authorities that the murderers identified themselves as Zetas and said that other emigrants that were with him were from El Salvador, Honduras, Ecuador and Brazil. At the site, authorities found 21 assault rifles and shotguns. The authorities were also able to detain a minor who could have been part of the Zeta cartel.
Authorities said that the victims were more than likely part of a ransom gone wrong. Recently these cartel gangs have begun to recruit emigrants as foot soldiers to enter the United States with a passel of drugs to take with them.
