By now, most people have clearly heard of the on-going dispute between Alec Baldwin and American Airlines’ flight attendants. Although Alec has apologized for some of his more recent comments, the union just refuses to let this problem go. In fact, now flight attendants are demanding that 30 Rock, which is a hit TV show starring Alec Baldwin, be pulled from their in-flight entertainment option.
The American Airlines Flight Attendants Union is now trying to stop the actor from flying with them. Not only do they not want the actor on their planes, but they do not want his hit TV show 30 Rock offered either. Some people feel that this is now becoming a little childish.
Reports have gone on to show that the union has already made inquires about who makes the decision about what entertainment is offered in-flight. However, it appears that this could be completely outside the union’s control no matter what they do. This is because it is apparently NBC that controls what gets shown on American Airlines flights, not the airline. Since the union has no pull with NBC, there is nothing that they can do to get the show removed.
It is looking very unlikely that the show will get removed. After all, this is a show that is much-loved by many people, and it makes NBC a lot of money. In fact, Alec Baldwin himself has won two Emmy Awards for his role as Jack Donaghy on 30 Rock. To put it simply, pulling the show from the airline is not really an option for NBC.
