Just recently, American Eagle Airlines, which is the regional affiliate of American Airlines, announced that it plans on launching nonstop jet services between Port Columbus International Airport and New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport. According to the airline, this service will be operated with a 44 seat Embraer ERJ-140 Jet.

The Vice President of American Eagle Airlines, Mike Trochalakis, said that American Eagle Airlines is extremely proud to introduce this new service from Columbus to John F. Kennedy Airport. Customers will now be able to enjoy even more convenient connections on American Eagle to destinations throughout the American Airlines global network.

The Columbus Mayor, Michael B. Coleman, said that they welcome American Eagle Airlines’ new nonstop flights to John F. Kennedy Airport. American Eagle Airlines’ investment is fantastic news for all of Columbus and all of its corporations that travel to new York. It’s also good news for all of the residents throughout Central Ohio.

Currently American Eagle Airlines also serves Columbus with daily flights from Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport, Miami International Airport and, of course, New York’s LaGuardia Airport. Both American Airlines and American Eagle Airlines provide services to Dallas Fort Worth from Columbus as well.

Although this new service has just been announced, American Eagle Airlines is already thinking about the future. On July 2 of 2010, the airline is planning to add a second daily nonstop flight from Columbus to John F. Kennedy Airport.

Many Airlines like American Eagle Airlines are starting to add new flights like this all of the time. This has a lot to do with the fact that airlines, during the recession, were making big cutbacks to their schedules. Now these airline are in a position to add new flights once again.
