It now seems that Avis Rent a Car has received multiple honors at the 2009 World Travel Awards. The World Travel Awards, which is described as the Oscars for the global travel and tourism industry, winners are chosen by travel professionals across the world. The winners are chosen on excellence in employee and customer satisfaction, product expansion, innovation, creativity, and business performance.
Now, for the fourth consecutive year, Avis was actually named North America’s Leading Car Hire and the World’s Leading Business Car Rental Company. On top of this, the company apparently, for the second year in a row, was named the Caribbean’s Leading Car Hire.
The president and founder of the World Travel Awards, Graham Cooke, said that the votes were cast by more than 180,000 travel professionals around the world. Avis has proven to be the best of the best, because the votes do not lie. The recognition is a testament to the hard work that the staff at Avis puts in day in and day out. Year after year, the company is able to deliver what people want to see in a car hire company.
The executive vice president of sales and marketing for Avis, Tom Gartland, said that it makes everyone at Avis feel great when they receive these kinds of awards. Travel professionals are vital to the industry and their business, and their confidence in Avis is what is very rewarding to the company.
Every year all car hire companies strive to be number one. Thus, for a company to be able to do it year after year says a lot about that company’s business practices and their commitment to their customers.
