British Airways have announced that they will be giving customers who hold a British Airways Visa Signature card increased benefits and those who sign up to the scheme better incentives to do so. New members who are approved for the card will automatically become members of the British Airways Executive Club. This gives them access to a variety of deals offered by British Airways partners such as Hilton, Marriott and Avis Rent A Car. It also allows customers to take advantage of partnerships the airline has across the oneworld alliance with carriers like American Airlines.
Both existing Executive Club members and new members will be awarded a bonus of 100,000 air miles. The initial award of 50,000 BA miles will be given to customers after they purchase their first air ticket with a second batch of 50,000 miles being sent to the customer’s account when they spend over $2,000 in the first three months.
British Airways is also offering all card holders who spend over $30,000 the chance to receive a companion redemption voucher valid for up to two years. This will allow members who are using their BA miles to take a trip to use their voucher to get a free ticket on the same trip and in the same class as they are travelling for a companion of their choice.
The airline has also decided to increase the number of air miles earned for every dollar spent by a customer by twenty-five percent. This will mean that each dollar will now earn card holders 1.25 BA miles.
