Just recently, Continental Airlines showed off its brand new flat bed seats at the World Travel Market. This is the very first time that the seat has been displayed outside of North America. The seat made its very first debut flight on a Boeing 777 flight from Hong Kong to Continental’s New York hub at Newark Liberty International Airport back on November 1st of this year.
Continental Airlines is planning on installing these new flat bed seats on their fleet of Boeing 777 planes. However, they are also planning on placing these flat bed seats on Boeing 757-200 and 767-400 planes as well. In the end, Continental Airlines also hopes to put these seats on their Boeing 787 fleet when the delayed aircraft finally is delivered.
Dave Hilfman, Continental Airlines’ senior vice president of worldwide sales, when speaking at the World Travel Market said that this new flat bed seat takes their award winning Business First service to another level. The seats offer state of the art design and features that are the result of extensive research with customers and corporate buyers and experts. This is just further evidence that Continental Airways continues to invest on improving their products as they strive to offer their customers the very best in comfort, value and amenities.
The seats themselves are all faced forward in a 2-2-2 configuration. They extend to a length of 6ft 6in and include lumbar support and fully extended sleep positions. On the Boeing 777, the seats have a 15.4 inch screen that offers up to 250 movies, 300 TV shows and 3,000 audio tracks.
