Lorens Ziller, who is Partner over at Elisbetta Gucci Hotels and Resorts, said that they intend to develop other hotels. They want to set their focus on Russia, China, Africa, the Far east and South America. In Terms of South America, they would really like to focus on Brazil. He added that they would like to have 40 hotels in 15 years, but thinks this can be over achieved.

Dubai, which suffered the sharpest drop in hotel revenues regionally in 2009, is seeing signs of recovery. Tourism in this area is starting to emerge from the impact of the global financial crisis.

Mr Ziller said that if they had a 300 room hotel, they would be seriously concerned. Even in the downturn there’s great potential for boutique hotels in Dubai. Generally the estimated cost of a luxury hotel comes to about $12.7 million.
