Emirates is ready to launch new daily services to Rio De Janerio as next Tuesday.

The new direct service from Dubai to Rio de Janeiro, which also offers an onward extension to the Argentinian capital Buenos Aires, is also to provide seamless connections from Emirates’ other destinations, of which there are over 100.

Thierry Antinori, Emirates’ Executive Vice President of Passenger Sales Worldwide, said at a press conference that as the carrier’s second Brazilian gateway, Rio de Janeiro, will be able to pump even more life into Brazil’s already vibrant economy while also boosting tourism and helping underpin the city’s already-known status as one of the world’s leading hubs for both business and trade, especially with the industries of oil and gas, through now being served by Emirates.

Antinori continued by explaining that Emirates anticipates a strong demand for leisure and business from its already-served destinations to Rio de Janeiro, particularly when considering that Brazil will act as host for a series of high-profile events in this decade – which includes the Confederations Cup in 2013, the FIFA World Cup the year after, and the Olympic Games in 2016.

Emirates’ Rio flight will be linked with Buenos Aires in Argentina, meaning that customers across South America will now be able to travel between two of the continent’s most famous cities in complete comfort and unprecedented style.
