There have been tons of people that want to do whatever they can to help Japan. People have been donating in just about every possible way that people can think of. Well it now seems that there is a new way that people can aid Japan. Apparently travelers who are members of mileage reward programs have special ways they can donate now.

Many airlines will be partaking in this new way to donate. For example, American Airlines will offer bonus miles to members of its award winning rewards program AAdvantage. However, the way the donation works is a bit different. Members of this program that donate $50 will receive 250 bonus miles. If people donate $100, then they get 500 bonus miles. It’s just American Airlines’ way of helping out Japan.

Of course, other programs work a bit different. For example, All Nippon Airways is doing a little donation program for Japan too. However, in this one, for every mile that people donate to Japan, All Nippon Airways will turn that mile into a Japanese Yen. The more miles that people give up, the more money that All Nippon Airways gives to Japan.

It is important to note that the All Nippon Airways does have a minimum number of miles that people have to give up before they can donate. Right now the minimum that someone can donate is 1,000 miles. In the end, that works out to be about $12. Of course, people can always donate more if they want.

In the end, this is just a nice new way for people to donate and help Japan. It nice when people are able to give in different ways.
