It seems recently that Greece just cannot get away from their travel problems. Now it seems that Greece faces even more economic problems as terrorists now threaten the tourism sector even more. The urban guerrilla group, Sect of Revolutionaries, has threatened to turn Greece into a war zone over the summer.
The group went on to say that tourists should know that Greece is no longer a safe haven of capitalism. The aim of the group is to transform Greece into a war zone of revolutionary process, sabotage, fierce demonstrations, arson, bomb attacks and armed killings.
As of right now, the British Foreign Office has not issued any kind of travel warning to Greece. However, experts say that it may just be a matter of time before more travel warnings go up for this area.
A lot of airspace closures during two general strikes just earlier this year have already seen a lot of international tourist numbers cut. Industrial action in the train, ferry and bus industry also saw a number of cancellations take place, which of course brought the countries travel industry to a standstill.
Of course, all of Greece has been at a standstill over the last week or so. This is due to hauliers walking out in protest over changes to licensing laws. As a result of this, more than 35,000 truck drivers have been on strike after disobeying a government emergency order to return to work.
Despite this, the situation was finally starting to return to normal. However, news of terrorist attacks are likely to send the travel industry right back into chaos.
