Recently, there have been a number of airlines that have been talking about the possibility of running routes between the Middle East and Scotland. One such airline is Emirates. Now, as most people already know, Emirates already has one route that runs between these two areas. However, now the airline is thinking of adding yet another daily link between the two areas. The airline hopes to be kicking off this new nonstop route between Glasgow Airport and Dubai by June 1 of this year.

Travel experts have been very excited about this new route. In fact, they went on to say that routes between the two areas will likely boost Scotland’s global connectivity. It will benefit business and tourism for both areas. In all, this new route is going to help link Scotland with more than 115 destinations via Dubai.

Apparently, Emirates announced their plans to launch this second link after the major success of its current Glasgow route. The link has been able to carry more than 1.7 million passengers so far. It has also been able to carry over 46 million kilos of cargo to and from the Middle East.

Laurie Berryman, who is the vice president of Emirates UK and Ireland, said that their Glasgow route has been a real success story. They are extremely confident that there is enough demand for yet another route between these two areas. This will not only help Dubai, but the other 115 destinations that travelers from Scotland will be able to reach.
