A new surge in interest in cruise holidays has now promoted Norwegian Cruise Line to increase their prices. This nice price increase comes just in time for their upcoming season. Reports suggest that some prices have increased as much as seven percent.
This decision follows what some organizations call an unprecedented year-to-date increase in booking volume. Demand has been driven by the “Year of the freestyle Vacation” wave season promotion. This was a promotion that ran during January and February.
The CEO of Norwegian Cruise Line, Kevin Sheehan, said that their first quarter wave season promotion definitely persuaded consumers to book a Norwegian cruise vacation as they saw a heavy call volume during this time. This big increase in call volume, of course, led to more bookings. He went on to say that as they move out of the wave season, consumers and travel partners can expect to see prices rise across the fleet. This goes double for the highly anticipated ship Norwegian Epic.
Norwegian Cruise Line also confirmed group business bookings were up close to twofold. The company also saw a very strong interest in its new ship, the Norwegian Epic, and its Hawaii-based ship, the Pride of America.
These prices will rise from April 7th with travel partners urged to take advantage of the current pricing environment for their individual bookings and block group space up to four months prior to sailing without paying a deposit. Norwegian Cruise Line has also recently confirmed plans for the 2011/12 winter deployment. Either way cruise travelers look at it, they will be paying more to sail with Norwegian Cruise Line.
