The passengers who are departing from the Doha hub of Qatar Airways are now able to check into their flight online. This service has been made available to all of the passengers who are flying with Qatar Airways from the Doha International Airport, except for flights that are bound for New York and Washington.
This new check-in service online, which is accessible through the carrier’s website, lets passengers who are flying in every class check-in from 36 hours to 2 hours prior to departure. The traveler can choose which seat they want, print their boarding pass, or even have a bar-coded boarding pass messaged to their mobile phone via convenient and simple steps.
For those passengers who have baggage that has to be checked-in, they can use the ‘Fast Bag Drop’ counters that are situated in the main terminal’s departures hall. Anyone who has carry-on bags will be able to go straight to the gate once they have completed the necessary security and immigration procedures.
This new service from Qatar Airways is one of many initiatives that the carrier is working on right now for improving their passengers’ experience at the airport. They have rolled out boarding pass scanners across the airport to make sure that passengers can check-in faster with this service. The online check-in service will also be rolled out to other airports that are served by the carrier worldwide during the next few months.
Akbar Al Baker, the Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Airways, said that during the last year, they have invested in resources and time for developing new online initiatives for providing passengers with a better travel experience. They have taken their service to a new level now with this check-in facility, giving passengers more control and letting them print their own passes for boarding the plane, as well as letting them get their pass via mobile phone.
