Everyone loves surveys where people vote on their favorite airline, product or company. Nine times out of ten these surveys give people results that they would not expect. Well this rule holds true for a recent Australian survey that was trying to determine what the best airline to fly internationally with was.

According to reports, Singapore Airlines topped this Australian list, while other companies like British Airways trailed with the lowest satisfaction rating for flights from Australia to Britain. The survey included responses from some 9,000 members of Choice, which is a consumer advice organization. These members were asked to rate their satisfaction on recent international flights on cost, in-flight service, seat comfort, timeliness, leg room, check-in process and even food quality.

Singapore Airlines was voted the best airline for 11 out of 12 of the most popular international destinations for Australians. Some of these destinations that Aussies think are better served by Singapore Airlines include the United States, Britain, Italy, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, China, Japan and Vietnam. The only destination that Singapore Airlines was not ranked number one was to New Zealand, and Aussies feel this route is best served by Air New Zealand.

Some airlines, like the Australian power house airline Qantas, were criticized for not delivering on cost or in-flight service. This airline lagged in ninth when it came to flights to Britain and fifth on flights to the popular United States.

Once again this survey shows that consumers do not just pick the most popular brands to fly with. Although Singapore Airlines is not the most well known in Australia, it is still one of consumers’ favorite brands to fly with. Once again, it proves that people like quality over quantity.
