As many people have already noticed, Hurricane Earl, when he passed through, disrupted a lot of travel plans along the East Coast. Due to this, airlines began offering passengers a way to change their tickets.
JetBlue just recently said last Thursday that it is waiving change fees and fare differences for customers who were booked for travel through Saturday to and from certain spots. Apparently customers were given the choice to rebook their flights through Tuesday, September 14. The eligible destination for this fare change included New York and spanned from Portland, Maine to Charlotte, North Carolina. The Bermudas are included in this deal as well.
However, JetBlue is not the only airline that is offering these kinds of deals. Of course, other airlines have different dates and different locations that are included in their deals.
Last Wednesday, Delta Air Lines said that customers traveling to or through several Eastern cites could make on-time changes to their travel schedules without any fees. The changes are allowed for people with flights on Thursday and Friday only. The waiver covers more than 20 different airports, which does include New York and Baltimore.
AirTran Airways said that customers traveling through some of their serviced Eastern cities, including Puerto Rico, could change their reservations as well without penalty. AirTran is owned by AirTran Holdings Inc. Frontier Airlines also said that they were offering consumers a chance to change their bookings as well.
Although most of these travel dates have already passed by, some have not. Some flights this week could be extra full as people who changed their flights last week board flights this week.
