A very surprising new alliance has just been announced this week between Intrawest and Sprint. This new strategic alliance will now put Sprint’s mobile devices, air cards, and voice plans in the hands of Intrawest staff members at the Copper Mountain and Steamboat Resort located in Colorado.

This new alliance comes in the form of a new three year agreement that will give Sprint the exclusive rights to promote, market, and advertise their wireless products and services at Intrawest mountain resorts in the United States. This does mean that Sprint now has the right to market at Mountain Creek in New Jersey, Snowshoe Mountain in West Virginia, Stratton Mountain Resort in Vermont, as well as Intrawest’s three Colorado resorts.

The senior vice president of sales and marketing for Intrawest, Andy Wirth, said that effective and reliable communications are critical to the success of Intrawest at their mountain resorts. He went on to say that, not only has Sprint continued to be a leader in cutting edge communication technology, they are also a longstanding supporter of skiers by supporting the United States Ski Team. Thus, Intrawest is proud to form this alliance, and the company looks forward to developing more programs that will benefit their guests.

On top of being able to advertise at all Intrawest resorts, Sprint will also be able to serve as a presenting level sponsor and associate level sponsor at several key events throughout the year at Cooper Mountain. This will give Sprint the opportunity to educate and inform guests at the resort of their products during a time when the resort should be full of holidaymakers.
