Reports now show that a United Airlines jet, which was carrying more than 100 people, had to be diverted to Denver just this past Saturday. The plane was going to Las Vegas when a passenger tried to open an exterior door on the plane while it was in flight.

The flight, which started from Washington, set down in Denver International Airport around 5pm. The police, who met the plane at the gate, took the passenger into their custody. Federal sources said that the man allegedly was intoxicated and was subdued by other passengers on the flight.

The Denver airport police went on to say that there was indeed a disturbance on the flight with an unruly passenger. Due to the disturbance, pilots decided to divert the plane to Denver. Police did interview the male passenger Saturday night but did not know if he would be charged or not. The police and United Airlines did not choose to add any further comment to the events that happened on the plane.

One passenger, Barry Eynon, said that he was in the third row when another passenger saw a man trying to get into the cockpit of the Airbus Jet. He then went on to say that he jumped up and grabbed the man and several other passengers joined in. Eynon said that the man looked really out of it.

The flight did go on to carry all of the 100 plus passenger, as well as the five crew members, to Las Vegas. The plane landed at the Las Vegas McCarran International Airport just shortly after 8pm.
